When reporters have nothing to report…

A friend of mine just woke me up from my afternoon nap with a “breaking news” message:

(01:43:10 PM) A building collapsed at ryerson

It’s not her fault, I should have turned the sound off. My mind drew some pretty sad pictures right away – only to find out a wall had collapsed, not a whole building. In fact, it was not really a whole wall that collapsed, but a small portion of the front layer of the wall. However, CP24 seemed to be overly excited. In the video, reporter sounds almost as if she was sincerely hoping that somebody would have got injured in that accident. I guess it’s because they call themselves “Toronto’s Breaking News” and are desperately attempting to leave up to the name even when nothing exciting happens at all.
